Collage 49 — in apple blue-sea green, ochre and sun-warm orange
In this composition, everything slows down naturally.
The hand-blown glass in apple-blue-sea-green is not central to be seen, but to let light through. The small air bubbles remain visible, like traces of the making process—nothing is fully smoothed out, and precisely therein lies the tranquility. The object rests on the slender stool, whose rhythm in the wood almost goes unnoticed, but is palpable in the space.
The painting above is restrained. Ochre and sun-warm orange glow not loudly, but discreetly—as if holding the light from earlier in the day. The green tones ground the whole, bringing it back to something that doesn't need to move to be present. The work does not push itself forward, but quietly supports what is already there.
The background in wasabi-grey does what it needs to do: supports without demanding attention. It softens the transitions, allows materials to coexist without competing with each other. Here, there's no contrast for contrast's sake, but a carefully tuned proximity.
The ochre-yellow book spine is not there as an accent, but as a completion. A small gesture that closes the whole, without fixing it.
Why this works
Coolness and warmth meet here without tension. The transparent glass and the more earthy weight of wood and pigment balance each other. Nothing dominates, nothing demands attention—and precisely because of this, quality emerges. Each element seems chosen, not collected.
A moment in space
It's morning. The light enters softly and barely shifts. The glass catches it, but doesn't hold it. Everything breathes in a slow rhythm. This is a place where nothing needs to be added—only perceived.
